This weekend was The One Music Fest held in Atlanta, GA. This year the music festival was divided into two days. The first night was at The Tabernacle and artists such as Ari Lennox, J.I.D., and Thundercat performed. However, this year I only attended the second day of the festival which was held at Lakewood Amphitheater and the breezy fall weather made for a great day! At Lakewood Amphitheater there is the Main stage that has reserved and covered seats and lawn area and then there is the standing room only Festival Stage with various DJ’s and performers. The main stage performances were from Ro James, Jidenna, Migos, and Jill Scott and the festival stage had Mos Def (Yasin Bey), Kaytranada, Too Short, and Damian Marley. Each artist had about a forty minute set on stage.
I primarily stayed at the Main stage because I had a seat and was more familiar with those artists performing on that stage and I also didn’t feel like standing up for long periods of time in between sets. My favorite performances were from Jill Scott and Migos. I really enjoyed the crowd atmosphere and positive energy at the festival. From the various t-shirt, jewelry, and art vendors and food trucks and variety in performances, it was worth it and I recommend attending next year because the festival just gets better and better!
